Stele is a tribute composition for Redel's long-standing friend and colleague Theo Brandmüller who died in 2012. It makes references to important aspects of his work and style, such as the influence of Olivier Messiaen, Brandmüller's great talent for improvisation to small details like his fondness of the tone C sharp, a kind of central or leading tone in Brandmüller's works. A deeply felt dialogue with a great artist, rewarding not only for organists who had a personal relationship with Brandmüller.
